Our story began not as a company, but as a family searching for answers. When U.S. Army veteran Chuck Shanks—a paratrooper and father—found himself living with chronic pain, the options presented were familiar ones: medication or surgery. Like so many others, he believed there had to be a better way.

That belief didn’t lead to a business plan.
It led to a mission.

From the beginning, Erchonia set out to challenge the status quo in medicine by advancing non-invasive alternatives to pain management and short-term solutions. We made an early decision that would define everything that followed: if we were going to build medical laser technology, it had to be real, measurable, and supported by science that mattered.

This commitment drove us to pursue rigorous Level 1 clinical trials, earn more FDA clearances than any other laser company in the world, and develop technology based on true laser diodes—not LEDs. Along the way, we’ve partnered with physicians, educators, and researchers who share a common priority: patient outcomes over industry trends.
